Thank you to those that attended our July 18, 2019, Lunch & Learn program about Kelly Fitzpatrick’s participation in Alabama’s New Deal Art Programs. We were particularly pleased that we had several out-of-town guests and a group of docents form the Montgomery Museum of Fines Arts in attendance.
For those that were not in attendance, we are sharing a few photographs of our lunch buffet featuring Cranberry Pecan Chicken Salad, Blanched Asparagus with lemon, Picked Elmore County Figs, Wheat Crackers with cream cheese and fig spread, and homemade Chilton County Peach Cobbler. Also included are some of the slides included in the presentation.
Starting Monday, August 5, 2019, our latest acquisition The Great Canoe Fight by John Kelly Fitzpatrick will be on display at our DAC Foundation Museum Galley located at 219 Hill Street in downtown Wetumpka. The rare and unique 14” x 30” watercolor and gouache painting was Fitzpatrick’s first study for his 1938 Ozark, Alabama Post Office Mural.
Mark your calendars for our next Lunch & Learn program scheduled for Thursday, August 18, 2019, in Tallassee, Alabama. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Follow this link to learn more about our next program: Alabama's New Deal Art Projects Part IV
