This informal, UP-CLOSE GATHERING, led by DAC Foundation founder and director Mark Andrew Harris, will give you the unique opportunity to personally engage with works of art from the DAC Foundation Collection Archives. On Saturday, September 14, 2024, guests will have a RARE OPPORTUNITY to delve deeper into the world of DAC artist CARLOS ALPHA “SHINEY” MOON and see examples of his sketchbooks, watercolor paintings, early oil paintings, and ephemera housed in the DAC Foundation Archives. Moon, a native of Alabama, has been featured in numerous museum exhibitions throughout the Southeast, as well as an “Art in Embassies” exhibition in Bucharest, Hungary.
Carlos Alpha “Shiney” Moon is one of the artists featured in the current exhibition “Echos of the Past Part II: Select Works from the DAC Foundation Collection.” The gathering will begin at 1:30 pm and conclude at approximately 2:30 pm at the Prattville Creative Arts Center, 342 South Chestnut Street, in Historic Downtown Prattville. Light refreshments will be served. Regular gallery hours are Friday and Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and by appointment.
