"LUNCH & LEARN" as we celebrate the Birthday and life of John Kelly Fitzpatrick born on August 15, 1888, in Wetumpka, Alabama.

Join us on August 15, 2018; to celebrate the life of Wetumpka artist and Dixie Art Colony cofounder John Kelly Fitzpatrick. This unique program promises to be both educational and FUN. Lunch will begin at 11:00 am. During lunch, we will test you “Dixie Art Colony IQ” with trivia questions taken from information on our website and from previous “Lunch & Learn” programs. The winner will receive a unique prize! Of course, the desert of the day will be a Birthday Cake honoring Fitzpatrick.

The presentation will begin at 11:45 and will include a rare look at a 1950 scrapbook compiled by some of Fitzpatrick's students at the Alabama Gulf Coast spin-off colony in Coden, Alabama. The scrapbook includes sketch paintings and poems by many of the artists that participated in the spin-off colony. We will also chronicle Fitzpatrick’s life and career.
