Join us at Nobles Ferry for the first in a series of events as we explore many of the locations frequented by the Dixie Colonists.
On October 12, at 12:00 noon the DAC Foundation will host a luncheon and an afternoon of relaxation by the lake at the Dixie Art Colony Nobles Ferry Lodge built in 1937 by Judge Malcolm and Sallie B. Carmichael. The lodge was the first of several building build on the Carmichael's lakefront property located in the Deatsville are of Lake Jordan. In addition to lunch, activities will include a tour of the property, the premiere of a 15-minute slideshow about the Dixie Art Colony, and plen air painting by several Elmore County Art Guild members including Shirley Esco and Carol Barksdale.
Due to overwhelming interest, reservations for the October 12, 2016 event have reached the maximum we can comfortably accommodate. More information will be available soon about future events and opportunities to visit the Nobles Ferry site of the Dixie Art Colony.
