All About “Shiney” Moon

Join us on Wednesday, March 15 as we “Lunch & Learn” about Dixie Art Colony artist Carlos Alpha “Shiney” Moon. 

The 60-minute program will include a slideshow about Carlos Alpha “Shiney” Moon and his connection to the Dixie Art Colony and some of the other participating artists. The slideshow will include vintage photographs from the Dixie and Bayou Colonies, more than 40 examples of his early and late work as well as biographical information.

In addition to the slideshow portion of the program, there will be an open discussion about Moon, the Dixie Art Colony and the spin-off colony known as The Bayou Painters. There will also be an opportunity to view and purchase high-quality prints of some of Moon’s work.

This free event at Trinity Episcopal Church, 5375 US Highway 231 in Wetumpka, on March 15, 2017, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 pm is open to all interested parties.  Attendees are encouraged to arrive 5 to 10 minutes early. The program will begin promptly at 12:00 noon. Trinity Episcopal Church is located directly across from McDonalds and Winn Dixie. A light lunch and informative handouts will be provided.
